Yesterday afternoon, the Chicago White Sox lost to the San Diego Padres, 4-2. It was their 120th loss of the season, dropping their overall record to 36-120. Since baseball's "modern" era began in 1901, only the 1962 Mets have also lost 120 games, and the White Sox still have six games to go in their 2024 campaign. Needless to say, a six game win streak to avoid sole ownership of the "worst team in history" title feels unlikely. 

Ironically, the White Sox are actually playing some of their best baseball of the season right now, as young players brought up to the big leagues for the sole reason of "why not?" are playing hard at the very least. But while fans are coming to ironically enjoy the team's downfall, there is one person who has had enough: The official White Sox Twitter admin. 

"FINAL: can be found on the MLB app," is much more interesting than "FINAL: Padres 6, White Sox 2."
